Lingjuan Hong, PhD | Decoding Productive Delivery

I am an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine. My research lies at the intersection of receptor biology, intracellular trafficking, and genetic medicine. My scientific journey has taken me from cell signaling and cardiovascular development to engineered viral vectors and targeted molecular delivery. Across these fields, I have become fascinated by a central question: What determines whether a therapeutic cargo can function after entering a cell? My current work explores targeted AAV vectors for immune-cell engineering and receptor-guided delivery of oligonucleotides to muscle. My long-term goal is to decode the cellular mechanisms underlying productive delivery and translate that knowledge into safer, more precise, and more accessible genetic therapies.
